Using a centrifugal tube is quick and easy.
Start by determining the tube size required for your process. Some centrifuges are suitable for small test tubes that can hold 15mL, while others can hold 50mL. There are even microcentrifuge tubes for processes as small as 0.5mL. Centrifugation is important for samples of all sizes!
Fill the test tube with samples and close the lid firmly. The selection of samples requires rotation to ensure the required rotation speed and amount of time for separation.
Place the tubes on opposite sides of the centrifuge. If you have an odd number of samples, fill the centrifuge tube with water and insert as needed. This will maintain centrifugal equilibrium.
Make sure the centrifuge lid is firmly closed and spinning. When this is done, the sample is collected and placed in a centrifugal tube holder for transport.
